However, it’s also one of the busiest times, making it harder for emerging acts to cut through the noise. So we’ve created a simple and affordable ‘booster’ campaign to support your release. RISING STARS

The music and media industries have changed significantly in the past 5-10 years. Tried and trusted publicity strategies still yield results, and NicNak Media will continue to offer traditional forms of music publicity, such as pitching to media and radio plugging. See below for a list of services offered by our ‘big sister’ NicNak Media.

However, we know that building a successful and sustainable career in music involves more than just publicity. There are many factors at play, such as marketing, branding, social media, content creation, touring and so on. At NicNak we are also committed to supporting the next generation of NZ artists to ensure the local music industry continues to thrive.

The NicNak team has been busy devising new ways in which we can best help local acts, above and beyond publicity. Many of these initiatives will cater specifically to new artists and bands, as they navigate their first steps in the ever-changing music and media landscapes. We’ll be revealing these concepts in the coming months, starting with our plans for Lil Sister.

Lil Sister will no longer operate as a stand-alone PR agency but as a ‘hub’ for emerging acts. Our goal is to provide local artists with a ‘one stop shop’ where they can access a range of services and support. We also want to use our experience and connections within music and media to champion up-and-coming talent.

The first initiative we’re revealing is Rising Stars. This is a ‘singles PR/radio campaign’ with a twist!

NICNAK MEDIA SERVICES

  • NicNak Media works with acts to plan the release of an album or an EP. Our goal is to ensure maximum media coverage. Most campaigns include radio plugging, as well as pitching to all other media - online, TV, print, podcasts.

  • If your song is suitable for radio play, NicNak will present it to the relevant New Zealand stations and continue pitching it throughout the duration of the campaign.

  • NicNak works with local artists and international touring acts, on both one-off shows and multi-date tours across New Zealand.

  • Paula and Nicole have years of experience in managing and mentoring artists. While they are currently not looking to expand their management roster, they can create bespoke campaigns for those looking for support in artist development. There are also options for one-off or ongoing mentoring.

  • NicNak Media has team members who can help you create the assets you need to promote you and your music. This includes writing bios, developing EPKs and creating content for social media and DSPs.
